This paper consists of EIGHT questions from section A and B.
Answer any FIVE question choosing THREE questions from section A and ANY TWO from section section B in the space provided in this question paper. ALL questions carry equal marks.
SECTION A: BUILDING CONSTRUCTION II
Answer any THREE questions from this section.
1. (a) State:
i. Four properties of suspended concrete floors;
ii. Three disadvantages of in-situ suspended concrete floors.
(b) Outline any FOUR factors that may influence the design of upper floors
(c) Sketch and label a typical hollow floor section.
2. (a) Differentiate between the construction of timber upper floor and timber grounds floors
(b) Sketch and label three ways of enhancing stability of a suspended timber floor joists.
(C) (I)State any four requirements of steel roof covering materials;
(ii) List any six roof covering materials
3. (a) (i) state five advantages of using waffle floors over in–situ concrete.
(ii)Sketch under ceiling pattern of waffle floors.
(b) Sketch and label, trimming, trimmer and trimmed joists around chimney opening.
(c) With the aid of sketches, explain the following types of roofs:

Answer any two questions in this section.

(b) Describe the IEE regulation on control and protection of electricity supply.
(c) State three requirements of switch gear in electrical installation.
(d)Sketch and label the following:
(i) D-iron and insulator for overheard rural distribution;
(ii) Supply intake position with main switch distribution board for 3- phase supply.
