Business management

Business management is a KNEC course under Business TVET courses on the KNEC line of courses.Business management is divided into three major levels namely;

• Craft Certificate in Business management
• Diploma in Business management
• Higher National Diploma in Business management

Craft certificate in business management is a KNEC course under Business TVET line of courses.To pursue this course,the candidate ought to have obtained the following minimum qualifications:

• KCSE D plain
• Pass in Artisan level where applicable
• OR any other qualification approved by KNEC

NB:The course will take approximately 2 years to complete with each year covering 2 modules inclusive of a compulsory attachment at the end of the 2nd semester.
Upon completion of the course,the candidate can choose to proceed to diploma in business management or proceed to the following career path:

• Entrepreneurship-skills acquired can be used to develop and run a business idea.
• Administrative assistant
• Small enterprise business manager

Diploma in business management is a KNEC course under Business TEP line of courses.To pursue diploma in business management,a candidate ought to have met the following minimum qualifiactions:

• KCSE C-(MINUS)
• Obtained a pass in craft certificate level where applicable
• Any other qualification which may be approved by KNEC

The duration of the course is three(3) years and each module is expected to take approximately 1 year to complete.A complusory industrial attachment is mandatory upon course completion.
Students who successfully completes this course can either proceed to pursue a higher diploma in a business related course or proceed to the following career paths:

• Entrepreneurship-skills acquired can be used to formulate a business idea
• Administrative assistant
• Assustant managers
• Office assistant

Higher national diploma in business management is a KNEC course under BUSINESS BTEP Higher national diploma line of courses.To pursue Higher national diploma in business management,the candidate ought to have met the following minimum qualifications:

• A diploma pass in a business related course
• Degree from a recognized university
• Any other qualification approved by KNEC

The duration of the course is approximately 2 years where each module is expected to take approximately one(1) year to complete.
Upon successfull completion of this course,candidate can seek employement as Managers or assistant Mangers in parastatals,Government agencies,training institutions or private firms.They can also choose to proceed for a masters degree in a selected university.
