Human resource management

Human resource management is a KNEC course under Business TVET courses on the KNEC line of courses. Human resources management is divided into three major levels namely;

• Craft Certificate in Human Resource Management
• Diploma in Human Resource Management
• Higher National Diploma in Human Resource Management

The Minimum Entry Requirements to pursue craft certificate in human resource management are:

• KCSE D plain
• A pass in a business related artisan course
• Any other qualification which may be approved by KNEC

NB:The duration for the course is two (2) years covered in two (2) modules including compulsory industrial attachment.

Career opportunities in craft certificate in business management are

• Human resource assistant
• Office assistant
• Small enterprise business managers

The minimum entry requirements to pursue diploma in human resource management are:

• KCSE C Minus
• Pass Craft Certificate Level
• Any other equivalent qualification as approved by KNEC.

NB:The duration for the course is three (3) years covered in three (3) modules including industrial attachment.

Career opportunities in diploma in human resource management are:

• Assistant Human Resource Officer
• Human Resource Officer
• Managers

Those who have successfully completed diploma in human resource management may now proceed to Higher national diploma or degree in related field

The minimum entry requirements to pursue higher national diploma in human resource management are

• Pass in Diploma level in a related field of study(business course)
• Degree from a recognized university
• Any other qualification approved by KNEC

NB:The duration to pursue higher national diploma in human resources management is two years inclusive of compulsory attachment.
